Publicity and guidance

The Doctoral Course is advertised by the Councils of the Regional Orders of Social Workers, which annually communicate on their websites an information note and a link to the call for admission; since last year, this publicity has been carried out in collaboration with the curriculum in Sociology and Social Work of the Roma Tre University.

The call for admission is also circulated annually through the Association of Coordinators of Degree Courses in Social Work (CLASS).

An information meeting is also held annually regarding the Doctoral Course aimed at second-year students, undergraduates and recent graduates of the LM87 of UCSC (Milan and Brescia campuses).

Seminars are also organized in which those who have already completed the doctoral course present the results of their research to the graduate degree student community (class LM-87) and to the professional community of social workers, with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of social work research and promoting the doctoral course.

On the various occasions of publicity, interested parties are invited to schedule an orientation interview with the Coordinator, in order to explore in greater depth the correspondence between their expectations, especially with regard to the research activity, and the educational offer of the Doctorate.

Up to the 38th cycle, an activity was also developed to raise awareness of the importance of research aimed at local authorities and third sector entities that manage social welfare services, through personal contacts of the members of the College and the construction of a special information brochure, published on the web and disseminated through the mailing list of the Relational Social Work Research Center. This awareness-raising activity has led, over time, to the announcement of ten executive doctoral scholarships, out of a total of 24 scholarships put up for competition. Currently, as a result of Ministerial Decrees 117 and 118/2023 and executive doctorates are no longer achievable under this Course.
