Teaching
The training activity of doctoral students is divided into compulsory general training and specific elective training.
Doctoral students are invited to check the indications provided by the Internal Regulations of the doctorate approved by the Academic Board for their doctoral cycle.
Training activity organized by the Agrisystem PhD
The teaching activity is:
- partly aimed at offering common training to the various fields
- in part to give specific training.
The common teaching part will focus on:
- on the principles of research methodology
- on ethical aspects
- on the deepening of scientific English and some methodological tools and means (e.g. statistics).
The learning of the contents transmitted is verified through a series of ongoing tests.
Training activity organized by the PhD Office
English Language
The course aims to broaden and deepen the knowledge of the main aspects of writing by providing the skills necessary to produce texts in line with the stylistic models conventionally adopted in the academic field in the production of articles, essays and theses. Attention will also be given to the development of note-taking skills as a preliminary activity to the writing work.
An important part of the course will be dedicated to improving communication skills by helping the student communicate in a meeting, negotiate, present a project or participate in a job interview.
Final Title
The PhD is the highest level of university education provided for in the Italian system.
The title of PhD is obtained by passing the final exam aimed at evaluating:
- the scientific results achieved
- the degree of in-depth study of the methodologies used
- the scientific training achieved by the candidates during the 3 years of the doctorate.
The final examination consists of the discussion of the doctoral thesis.
