Information on the entrance examination for the Doctorate in Education
The Doctorate in Pedagogy (Education), part of the Doctoral School in Educational Sciences, is accessed after passing an entrance examination aimed at verifying the possession of adequate knowledge and skills in the field of pedagogy and educational sciences, with particular attention to pedagogical-educational research.
The admission examination is divided into two tests, one written and one oral:
- The written test consists of the development of an outline, drawn from those proposed by the Examining Committee, on a topic pertaining to the pedagogical area. (The texts provided in the admission tests of previous years can be consulted at the Doctoral Office).
- The oral interview starts from the discussion of the written paper and then also develops around topics of the pedagogical area with possible reference to the candidate's research interests.
The examination is completed by a test concerning the knowledge of a foreign language (indicated by the candidate).
Within the framework described above, it is up to the Examining Committee to decide specifically on the various aspects (duration of the written test, themes, oral methods, etc.).
A specific bibliography is not indicated in preparation for admission; Candidates are advised to take care of a preparation that takes into account the multiple areas of pedagogical research with reference to the different articulations indicated in the announcement.
Only for the Higher Education Internationalization and Educational Strategies and Practices sector : evaluation of the curriculum vitae et studiorum, of the research project proposed by the candidate, of a cover letter from a scientific or institutional referent, oral interview in English.
