Criminology

Transcrime, the Inter-University Research Centre on Crime and Innovation of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan, is the scientific support structure for the International PhD in Criminology.

Transcrime is an international reference point for scholars of criminal phenomena from different perspectives, including criminological, sociological, legal and economic. Its excellence in research is demonstrated by the important international funding obtained in this area (projects under the Sixth and Seventh Framework Programmes, Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe and DG Home Affairs).

PhD students will have the opportunity to carry out their activities in a highly stimulating environment, with the contribution of researchers and personalities with important roles in academic structures, institutions, law enforcement agencies and businesses. Agreements with member universities, as well as professors who are part of the Academic Board, offer opportunities to enter the world of research or access other professions where knowledge in this field is required.
